nice list here... I need to get back into learning Japanese so bad. >.>;;; Numbers might not look easy, but I guess they kind of are when you're just having to write or type them. But, actually having to say them...? If someone told me to say "1,768,231" in Japanese, my head would explode. >.>;;

Hi, Charlie. I'm so glad that you requested a word. I would also like to let you know that I am a martial arts enthusiast having studied and dabbled in karate-do, aikido, judo, jujitsu and arnis/kali/escrima among others.

The word for five in Japanese is "Go". The word for wind is "kaze". You would find this word in a Japanese word I know you are very familiar with which is "kamikaze" meaning "Divine Wind" or "God Wind". "Kami" means god. So, the Way of the Five Winds would be "Gokaze-do". However, this would refer to the style. If you want it to be the name of the school, you should add, "-kan" as a suffix. You've probably heard of the Budokan and Kodokan, maybe even Kyokushinkai-kan.

So your style could be Gokazedo and the school Gokazedokan. Hope this helps and feel free to request more words for translation. It would also be appreciated if you could refer my blog to others. Thank you again.

Your blog is an excellent resource for beginners like me. Like you I got hooked on Japanese (and yes, I love the food too) amine and was tired of reading the English sub-titles...so, I (too busy to attend a Japanese language class) have resorted to an online course at http://learnjapanesequickly.blogspot.com and have been learning at my own "slow" pace. Your blog is an excellent resource for beginners like me. Thanks for helping me learn.
